Happy Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving is a day of reflection. You look at yourself in the mirror, and ask yourself, “What I am thankful for?” Then, you give thanks for all that you have. This is a wonderful thing to do. It allows you to see and truly appreciate what you really have. It can be an eye opening experience. Many people only do this on Thanksgiving day. However, this is an activity that I recommend to be done on a daily basis. My brother Marcos has a journal that writes in everyday. In this journal, he asks himself questions like:
1. What am I most happy about today?
2. What I am most excited about today?
3. What I am most proud of today?
4. What I am most grateful for today?
5. What have I accomplished today?
6. What have I learned today?
Asking yourself these questions on a daily basis will benefit you enormously. By thinking about these questions, you will be reviewing your whole day – taking in all of the experiences and learning from them. Sometimes we are in such a rush throughout our day, we forget about the good things in our life, the learning experiences that we can build from, the successes that we can grow on, and what things motivate us to do more.
So this Thanksgiving, ask yourself these questions as you are enjoying a wonderful dinner in the company of family and friends.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
